RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Providing Advice to the District Manager of Ministry of Natural Resources and Helping in the Management of our Natural Resources for the Northshore Forest Resource Management Advisory Committee Northshore Forest, Sault Ste. Marie/Sudbury Districts The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is seeking open minded individuals to serve on the Northshore Forest Resource Management Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is a legal requirement under Section 13 of the Crown Forest Sustainability Act (1994) and of the Class Environmental Assessment for Timber Management in Ontario. The Resource Management Advisory Committee is seeking to fill the following vacancies: Aboriginal Primary/Alternate members Naturalist Primary member Economic Development Alternate member Commercial Bear Outfitters Primary and Alternate members Commercial Tourism Alternate member Crown Land Recreation Primary and Alternate members General Public Alternate member Mining Industry Primary and Alternate members Non Timber Forest Products Primary and Alternate members Trade Unions Primary and Alternate members Water Power Industry Primary and Alternate members The advisory committee assists in the preparation and implementation of the Northshore Forest Management Plan. The advisory committee also helps improve government decision making by advising District Managers on resource management issues in the Northshore Forest and by communicating with the public. Members are expected to act in the broad public interest and promote fair, reasoned advice based on all available information. Participation requires regular attendance at monthly meetings and other functions such as public forums and forest management plan open houses. Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses is provided for attendance at meetings.
